April 2017 – Sound Design
Originally, The Daily Task is a tumblr, created by the french motion design studio Doze Studio. For the last 4 years they’ve created each day a new gif.
In 2016, the tumblr is selected, among others from all around the world, for the « Shorty Awards », which happened in New York.
One year later, Doze Studio wanted to push the experience a bit further by giving life to The Daily Task in a virtual reality world. They trusted me & asked me to be the sound designer for this long aventure.
URBANDRONE was in charge of the architecture & the visuals aspects of this virtual experimental museum.
The Daily Task VR Journey uses HTC Vive technology, and is developped on Unreal Engine. I chose Fmod Studio for the sound integration.
During 2 weeks, we worked tightly with Urbandrone, to create this journey, as an intimate and immersive experience. Starting at the high top and giving him his first vertigo feels, the user is invited to travel through this huge virtual museum. From one gallery to another one, going deeper and deeper, he’s discovering the gifs taking life.
The first version of The Daily Task VR Journey was exposed at Motion Motion festival.
2 500 people were at the festival this day, and hundreds of people had the luck to try the VR experience.
